Call For Images!

The RVA Street Art Festival is incredibly excited to announce that the festival’s impact will be the focus of a museum exhibition opening next summer at the Valentine!! The exhibit will feature large scale reproductions of many of the landmark works created during the festivals (many of which have since been destroyed), along with other iconic objects from the initial Canal Walk festival in 2012, the old GRTC bus barns in 2013, the Southern States silo complex in 2016, the Diamond in 2017, and the return to the Canal Walk in 2022.

But in order to do this right, WE NEED YOU, the community who supported us along the way! Do you have high quality photos of the finished murals? The works in progress? The crowds during the festival? We all remember these great moments, but we need help collecting the images that documented this amazing period in our city’s history.

If you have high quality images or videos that stand out and that you want considered for inclusion in the exhibition, please put them in a shared folder and email the folder along with your contact information to rvastreetart@gmail.com or submit through our contact form by by Friday, October 16th.

All images selected for the exhibition will be fully credited to the photographer. By submitting media files, you agree that they may be used for the RVA Street Art Festival exhibition, including associated promotional, programming and digital products. Submissions will not be added to the Valentine’s object collection.

Thanks for your help!
